As an update to this thread. I received my 3rd wasp on Monday of this week and installed it. So far so good, we will see in 1 month. I did notice that the dot seems much smaller now. Wondering if it was just being overpowered before as it was possibly drawing max power to the diode. Not sure but...

For anyone who gets this, stay away from the Hex Wasp. You can see the full thread elsewhere on this forum but tons of people having issues with the red dot dying in 1 month, yet Springfield chooses not to respond. I’m on my third, and another member is on their fourth replacement.

When on the phone with customer service today to get my second RMA started, the lady mentioned they are waiting on a new batch of Wasp’s supposed to arrive mid-March which they hope will fix the issue with the bad batch. Hopefully if sending mine out this week, I can get one of the new ones.

Well this is not good. I received my replacement January 29th and installed on my hellcat. I never even made it to the range to sight it in completely. Found the red dot not working last night (Feb 28th), so another instance of the sight lasting one month before breaking for me. Not feeling...

That’s about similar to mine. I think it took two weeks then I suddenly got an email with fedex tracking. So I’d expect you get an email here within the next couple days.

Seems like some sort of batch issue with guns sold around November-December. Hoping my replacement is like your first. Supposed to show up today so I’ll get it mounted and see how long it lasts. I’ll keep this thread updated with my findings.

Let us know if it seems like a new unit, or what they said they did. I have yet to receive any shipping info, so I guess ya beat me.

Man you got lucky in terms of replacement. I had to send mine in and still waiting on them to ship the new one.

To update, I shipped my hex wasp out on Monday the 10th to Springfield via the fedex label they sent. I’ll update this thread with what they do and how long it takes to get my red dot back and functioning.

I purchased my RDP on 11/26 and installed the optic myself. Just looked today (12/29) to see that my red dot is dead (was working fine yesterday). Like you I saw that the supposed life is 2 years so I am surprised. I will be contacting Springfield tomorrow to see what they say.
