    July 5th, 1937, SPAM introduced

Mine and my Grandsons favorite is Bacon Spam. As a plus it is actually lower in Sodium and fats than the low fat or lite spam.

    Fingers crossed?

I'm a pessimist; there may be things added or taken out as poison pills to insure it won't pass.

Is this real, or more snake oil? Making gas out of air.

Like something out of the old JC Whitney catalogs of the 1960's - 1970's. Along with the magnets for your fuel lines and other gimmicks.

President Trump Reportedly Set to Accept Boeing 747-8 Gift From Qatar

In my opinion: Because they underbid ( probably for the prestige) and thought they could re-negotiate the fixed contract under a friendlier administration. When they decided that they were losing money the new plane was put on the back burner for more lucrative orders.

    Bustin caps in high humidity

High Humidity reminded me of shooting high velocity rounds ( 22-25 and 22 Br Remington ) off the bench when humidity was high. When all was right you could see a momentary vapor trail.

President Trump Reportedly Set to Accept Boeing 747-8 Gift From Qatar

I wonder how long it would take to strip it down and find all the hidden surveillance

Get to Know Spyderco in Three Knives

I never was a Spyderco fan but my SIL loves them. Always thought I would like a Solo ( technically not a Spyderco but distributed by them) though

Problems with my SA Garrison 9mm

My 9mm 5" Ronin did not like the 10 Round Wilson ETM magazines at all. Hard to load, a full mag won't seat with the slide closed, and refused to feed. The stock magazines with the black base work like a champ, as do Wilson 920 or Ed Brown flush 9 rounders. For a 10 rounder I tried a Tripp...

John Deer Enters The Pickup Truck Market

I grew up in the Springfield, Ohio area when IH was still making pick-up trucks ( and the Scout). The IH pick-up's were very popular with the Farmers in the area. As I recall they seemed to rust out worse than other brands but that may have been a result of hauling fertilizer.

    Range Report: Quick 100 Rounds w/Ronin, 4/1/25

From what I understand it is usually feed and ejection issues. I have never shot one enough to wear it out.

    Range Report: Quick 100 Rounds w/Ronin, 4/1/25

Close; Heavier spring does not open as hard but it closes harder which is why it helps going back into battery. Ideal is to strike a balance where it opens fully and locks on last shot while still going fully into battery. 11 or 12 lbs seems to be a sweet spot for 9mm in a full size 1911...

    Range Report: Quick 100 Rounds w/Ronin, 4/1/25

Nice. I have a full size Ronin 9mm also. They are very nice 1911's. I also think the stock 9 lb recoil spring is too light. I think they install it because many user will mainly use cheap relatively weak 115 grain range ammunition. I like good and somewhat higher pressure 124 grain ( or...

Let me know: Ronin Range Officer 5" 9mm

What is a Ronin Range Officer? I have a 5" Ronin 9mm; mine is a very early one marked Ronin Operator. I have no complaints at all other than I think SA puts too low a poundage recoil spring for my tastes. They build it with a 9 lb spring in the 9mm's, I am using ban 11 lb spring and like it...

Third day in Detroit area this week

I used to have to go to the Detroit area on business. I guess there are some nice areas but it seems like the machining and plating shops I went to were not in them. Southfield, MI, and one company over on 8 mile road.

Chrome Silicon vs. Stainless Steel: Which Recoil Spring is Right for You?

Sprinco makes some fine springs. I may need to try one in my 1911. I see that now that you were talking about springs for an AR platform. I was talking springs for a 1911 pistol. In the 1911 Sprinco and Wolff cost about the same and I would use either in a 19114 with confidence.

Chrome Silicon vs. Stainless Steel: Which Recoil Spring is Right for You?

Standard round wire recoil springs of the correct weight. My go to spring is a Wolff. They worked fine for over 100 years as designed. I get a kick out of how some people say JMB was a genius and made the 1911 perfect; don't use new methods like MIM, Ti firing pins etc then go on about flat...

    Wilson combat oil

I do not think you will go wrong using any decent oil. I also think that a lot of the oils from different builders/suppliers are very similar. I use Ed Brown oil myself because that is what I happen to have at hand.
