How was the rear sight attached to the M1865 Allen Conversion? I have read that the sight was soft soldered to the barrel. Was there a key slot in the barrel or was it just soldered to the round top of the barrel? Also. the sight is listed as being a single leaf, the same one as the M1861 rifle...
