Finally got it. Thanks for the input vjsilva1. I had to use a punch and give it a few taps in the screw holes (sideways, not into the threads themselves) to jar whatever was locking it up. finally gave way going parallel like you said (away from barrel).

I am having a hell of a time with this haha. I took out the 2 screws that it said, i've heated it multiple times and still can't get the damn thing off. Are you hitting where the sights are or are you just hitting the plate? It seriously refuses to budge! Thanks!
