Slight thread drift: How long did it take for you guys to receive your GearUp promotion stuff? I know they state 8-12 weeks, but I'm wondering if there is sort of a range when people started receiving their gear. I'm at 9 weeks and counting.

I'm a big 10mm fanboy and I think it's great that Ruger came out with the carbine in 10mm. I'm going to wait and see what the reviews are a couple months from now before I decide if I'm going to get one.

I also agree with HG and Trader. I just picked up new Hellcat last week and admittingly its controls are small and stiff, but the slide release, if you want to use your thumb, is no harder to release than some of the other pistols I own.

My luck with these contests is abysmal, but I entered anyway. 😁

That's a nice looking rifle. I have a T/C Hawken that I made from a kit back in the '70's. I have bagged many a deer with it and it is still one of my favorite deer hunting rifles.

We're starting to smell the smoke here in the SE portion of SoDak. It reminded me of when I was a kid, a looong time ago, and burning leaves in the fall after we had raked them.

I bought one a few years ago and I like it a lot. I have had absolutely no problems with it and it is real easy to shoot up a lot of ammo with it. 😉

Fortunately for us the nasty stuff went south of us through parts of Nebraska and Iowa, but we did get a good amount of rain which we desperately need.

South of me some 300+ miles and some of that system will passing through my area later this evening.

Fortunately, being single, I didn't have a problem finding things I needed, but I'm afraid the days are coming when, even with all the stuff were have stocked up, it's not going (maybe with the exception of ammo) to be enough.
