308 steal cased ammo

Is it ok to use steal cased 308 ammo in an M1A. Does Springfield have an official recommendation or not? I’ve heard of that steal cased ammo has blown apart bolts and ejection slides. Anyone have that happen to their M1A? Which leads to my next question. What is the safest,most reliable...
