m1a issues

Hi, I own a standard M1A and absolutely love it. But it feels like the Operating Rod is loose. Is there a way to fix this?

How do I know if the M1A I am looking at is a national match? It says it is but I want to be sure, I only can see it online in pics I have tired to look up the number but I cant seem to locate a website that will help.
