I've always liked the small-ringed Mausers like the Czech Vz.33 and Gewehr 33/40, and the Swedish m/1938.

Have to agree with you on both. Owned both and a Swede too. Really like the Pattern 1917 Enfield well and have owned several. Still have a 1917 Enfield that was converted to 7 MM Mag that was my main hunting rifle for years. 1903A3 is a very fine rifle but are getting way too expensive. My M1 Garand came from CMP several years ago and was made by Springfield in 1941. The wood is a little banged up but metal and barrel are pristine. Fun to shoot and very accurate.
