That's a good article, especially for those of us who love the 10mm. They do make the recoil out to be way worse than it is. The only factory ammo I buy is the Sig stuff and it's not bad at all. My small batch buys are from Underwood, and they aren't bad either. Maybe just a touch harsher than a .45 acp 1911. I also make my own and go to the top of the box. Still, the recoil is just fine. I do dispute comparing a 10mm to a .44 mag. I did some penetration testing this last weekend on 2x4s, some older and slightly worn down stumps, and a sheet of plywood. A 10mm with Underwood 200gr hardcast went through three 2x4s and a 16 inch log before stopping in the plywood. An Ammo, Inc. 240 gr JHP did the same, and then went on to take a half inch chunk out of the sheet of plywood and went through another 18 inch stump. I found the expanded bullet in the dirt maybe 15 yards further downrange. The 10mm is a wicked nice automatic round with milder recoil than described but even loaded hot is isn't in the same ballpark as a mid-level .44 mag.
