Thermals are fun, but they only pick up heat the best, obviously, and little things like holes, ditches, small plants may not show up as well as they are all colder and blend in to the picture. leaves lots of hazards to trip over while maneuvering with a thermal to your eye.
You get used to knowing what to look for.
An Electric Fence wire wont show heat with its insulation.
Learned this the hard way looking thru the thermal

Notice the black line below. That is an electric fence wire about waist high close in. Looks like a depression in the dirt farther away. Nope. A wire about 5 foot from the scope

I've remembered that. Mainly because I want some NV. And not being independently wealthy, like some people we know
, I will most likely have to settle for one or the other. And probably not a very good one at that. That's why I haven't been too worried about looking into it very seriously.
