Last year a Luger was brought in to the Range store for a consignment sale. Of course immediately snatched up by an employee. Has all matching serial numbers on the pistol and accessories.
Luger is nice yet I'll carry my SA 1911 in preference. If the 1911 was good enough in the old times, it's good enough for this old-timer!

Thanks Mike, I was fortunate to have found them, let alone have the resources to purchase them, at the time.
Great read Mike! What you wrote, "The big .45 served my grandfather in World War I, my father in World War II and my brother in Vietnam. That’s more than good enough for me" applied to me also! This is my Springfield 1911 that I purchased in the early '80's!

I shot my uncle's luger when I was a kid a long time ago. I don't recall where he got it. I was one of the recent purchasers of a CMP 1911. I bought a service grade and received an Ithaca that had been re arsenaled twice, once at Rock Island Arsenal and at Aniston Army Depot with a date of 07/1976. I'd guess if it could talk it would have some stories.
