I don’t use +P anything, Nort… but any advice I would give would begin with What does the Owner’s Manual say about it? Look and see if it’s addressed there, or maybe an insert notice was included…I have recently purchased a 1911 Defender/Mil - Spec 45 ACP. Just wondering if it's OK to run

230+P shouldn’t be a problem with occasional use.
255 may or may not feed in your pistol. With +P in that weight, you will likely need a heavier recoil spring.
