1911 Conversion Kit

I used to have a Ciener Conversion, but upgraded to a Marvel several years ago. It shoots like a match pistol...which is why I suppose that many people use them as such. To me, it is a low operating cost practice tool. After swapping it around a bit from 1911 to 1911, I figured it required a dedicated lower. So an Essex got the nod, the version with the undercut trigger guard. Finish was far superior to the Essex of old. Anyway, I had enough MIM take off parts to pretty much build the lower. And you know what, years later not one MIM failure. Still, the extra piece of mind on a carry gun was worth the upgrade to Ed Brown Hardcore Parts to me. At any rate, thought while in the Man Cave and had the vault opened to take another picture I would give a quick review of the Marvel. Top shelf, would not hesitate to buy again or recommend.

I really like this style of beaver tail.

I have been very happy with my Marvel Unit 1 steel conversion.

It came with a 0.649-inch 50 yard 5 shot group shot with Eley Semi Auto Benchrest Precision ammo.

I use my 2022 Colt Gold Cup as the lower.

I added a Wilson Combat drop in beavertail grip safety.

It only needed a little fitting of the trigger engagement area.
(and a command style hammer :) )

About 20, maybe 25 years ago, I stumbled onto a Ciener Platinum Cup conversion at a really good price. Like others, I liked it so much that I built up an Essex frame to mount it on permanently. I've gotten much fun out of this gun over the years.

About a year ago, I was at a gun show and found a Colt/Umerex .22 1911 and bought it. Its been a great gun too.

I might also mention that I have .22 conversions for my Hi-Powers and AR-15s as well. :)
