1911 Mil Spec Safety Plunger issue

JTPP

Alpha
I have a new 1911. I received it back from Springfield; they said it was fine. I sent it in because the slide locked up and I could not get the safety disengaged. I realized now after it did it again that the Safety Plunger was not being moved by the thumb safety. I can push the plunger in by hand and then disengage the safety. My question to the experts on this gun, is this normal and/or will it loosen up over time. I have shot about 200 rounds. Stripped it and cleaned it last night. Plunger is still really tight. If anyone can advise I'd be obliged.

I probably got about the same amount of rounds thru it it’s tight but my works safely does make the plunger go back oil it like old me said should be better good luck bud

My Colt Classic 1911 has a real tight plunger tube spring, I did what Old_Me said and it helped

Make sure oil both ends it helps

Lol, seriously, I did thanks, slide stop side was the worse

I will put my 2 cents in I use liberty lubricants I like it it stays wet if you want for the slide or dry it off . Make sure don’t order from eBay it’s fake buy it directly from them
