1911 Paddle Holsters

Hello all, just wondering if anyone here is using a paddle holster for their full size 5” 1911?
I’ve used paddle holsters with great results with other much smaller and lighter firearms. I am also using a belt from Thebeltman.net designed for holster carry as well which helps support the loaded holster.
I have tried on a couple different serpa style 1911 Holsters at the range and it seems they do not carry very close to the body or high enough on the hip.
Thanks for any help anyone can send my way....

The only paddle holster I own is a Fobus for my Glock G19 (so sorry, no help from me there).
For my 1911's, I have Blackhawk Serpas and a Galaco leather Shoulder rig. I find them to heavy to carry, but if I was to carry them, I'd probably go to the shoulder rig as it was comfortable. But you'd always have to wear a jacket (which I don't like to do indoors), to conceal it properly. That's just my opinion, but I'd be interested in what others say about a paddle holster for 1911 carry for sure.

Here’s my paddle holster from Concealmentexpress.com for my Canik TP9SF. For a larger and heavy gun this holster does its job quite well my gun belt from Thebeltman.net. I am very impressed with it so far and am considering the same brand for my Ronin. Just lookin for other options from the group here.

I actually like paddle holsters.

The ones I have for 1911’s are Safariland GLS’s, and they work great...but I really don't need the retention. I’m looking for a nice leather version for my RO Compact.

I really like leather holsters myself as well. I’ve always had good luck with DeSantis Holsters however they seem to be a little harder to find these days. Ordering direct can be pretty pricy in my opinion.
I spent a good chunk of change on my Ronin, I would like to carry it in a nice respectful holster.
