History is the guide to the future. The German Army began WWII with inferior AVFs. Their crews were better trained, and the Germans employed better battlefield tactics. By the end of WWII, the Germans were creating 70 monsters that where all but useless on the battlefield. Today's 70-ton monsters are quick on their tracks, well protective on their crew's, and have a lot of firepower. However, they still need infantry to protect from close in attacks. The armor losses of the Russians are a reflection of poor tactics. The battle of 73 Easting reflected those wide-open spaces in the desert is tank country. Remember how well the German Panzer divisions preformed early in invasion of the USSR. Woodland areas still require the tank/infantry teams. My opinion.
