Sadly Schrade is not the company it used to be when it was owned by the family. Taylor Made brands bought them out and moved production to China and quality noticeably dropped. Then Smith and Wesson Knives, bought Taylor brands and they are still made by Taylor in China for Schrade. I believe quality may have gotten a bit better since then but not what it used to be.

I have carried and have many USA made Schrade knives. I refuse to buy any of the China made Schrade crap.
