Talon makes specific rectangles for 1911 front straps. I found my 10mm Ronin to be quite slippery until I added some Talon tape, problem solved. Front strap milled checkering does seem to be an expensive feature on 1911's these days....
Good article. Considering the said importance of the front strap texturing, I'm very disappointed that my $900 Springfield Ronin doesn't have any one it. One would think that a firearm of that cost and quality would include such an important but small feature.
Handle it Grips sells sheets of the material the use from rubbery to very aggressive. You can easily cut it to fit and provide that contact patch you are looking. I always slap a little rectangle under my trigger right in front of the undercut as a contact spot and it really helps me lock in my grip.
i have pacmyre rubber grips on my 1911s it has a what i call a sticky grip on the front strap
your fingers get a great purchase
i tried the "skate board tape" before and this article really says YES to putting grips on with some area that really helps the fingers stay put,
thanks
