i know, "they tell you" not to keep the bikes in the apartment when charging them...

ok, in NYC, where do you recharge them.....outside for the thugs to steal them..???

suburban USA, maybe you are safe from theft.......but in the city..??

no locks, will keep a bike thief away.

No one is safe from theft, anywhere, at any time. Some folks need that driven home.
Case in point: I just thwarted some fleabitten mongrel that was looking to kype my large refuse barrel, twenty minutes ago, at the top of my lane. It's always emptied at noon or shortly after, and I couldn't retrieve it as quickly as usual. Five minutes later it would have been gone, I'm certain. Father, give me strength. . .

The Save The Planet bunch is getting people killed. What's worse is that some people in government are true believers and passing laws to force the change over to electric vehicles.
I'm sure that someday all cars will be electric. But for now, the technology just isn't there. Trying to force the change is stupidly dangerous. 🤬

given that most likely the majority of those atv's are stolen and driven on the city streets around here, knowing city kids can't afford them, i'd say you might be right.

however, most times i'll believe city folk have it tougher, leaving things outside, as there is more "walking" and drive-by traffic, than the 'burbs.

funny, in a rhetorical way, that earlier today, i read that many dealers about 3,000 or so, are demanding the Brandon administration, to cut back on the time line for these....as it is now, they are not selling, not as capable of doing things, like long distance driving or pulling heavy loads...also, just read where EV stations are getting the cables cut, for ll the copper inside them..

now lets add vandalized AEV stations, to non-working ones, to not many available along your route....

what a bunch of dumbasses running the zoo.

True believers is right. Let me set the scene: A truck stop just off the interstate In the area of ???, Texas, closest town is only 3000 people with 80+% owning pickups, and some mensa says this is a good place to put some charging stations. This isn't market analysis; it's a religion.

and people are pushing for electric cars

if so, then park your electric death trap, far from your house at all times.

i'd hate to think "what if" you are driving one, it starts a fire, and you cannot unlock the doors, and get out of the seat belts.
It’s definitely not for me
