I agree that 11-13 inch barrels (11.5") are the optimum barrel lengths. Many Federal agencies and professionals use those lengths for CQB purposes.Oh thanks goodness they did a good barrel length this go-around. That 7.5" barreled 5.56 from a few years ago was ridiculous.
Now they should put a 7.5-8.5" barrel on that new 9mm Victor AR pistol they just came out with.

NiceMy introduction to Springfield Armory. Took about 1 round to start thinking SUPPRESSOR (yelling because I couldn’t hear myself). SBR is the best use of the 5.56, this was the easy button. I’m so happy I talked myself into upgraded Edge if only for the extra inches (yea, that’s what she said).
