The British set out to confiscate American arms.

On April 18, 1775, British troops march out of Boston on a mission to confiscate the American arsenal at Concord and to capture Patriot leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock, known to be hiding at Lexington. As the British departed, Boston Patriots Paul Revere and William Dawes set out on horseback from the city to warn Adams and Hancock and rouse the Minutemen.

Great link, thanks for posting!

I live in a college town...it would be interesting to go downtown tonight and ask students to tell me what happened in America 250 years ago today with a twenty dollar bill as the prize. Bet I could go down there with $200, ask 25 students then take my wife out to CC City Broiler for a $200 steak dinner.
Pride. It’s all about Pride. They don’t give a Dam where we started. They’re focused on tomorrow.
Us “Seasoned Seniors” grew up with Good Old Fashioned Pride🇺🇸

Well, Pride and thanks to schools omitting large chunks of history, kids today simply don't know. Can you imagine a teacher instructing a class today that the British were on the way to scoop up the guns that were largely stored in Armories at the time. The Minute Men kept their gear at home for the ready! (Bug Out Bag...never thought about it like that) Because the first step in being a King is to know where the guns are, so when you want to keep the peasants in line you have to take the firearms away first.

May the freedom they purchased that day with their lives always be remembered.
