308 firing pin removal

I am new to shooting a .308 and recently picked up a SA St. Victor which I love. However, when I broke it down for cleaning, I was unable to remove the retaining pin to then remove the firing pin. I see the retaining pin is different from my .556 and I couldn't find much on the web about it either. I attempted to push it through and no matter what I tried, no luck. Is there some type of special push I need to remove it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

push the pun thru with a small screwdriver or needle nose
I used one prong of the needle nose to push it out
Bolt needs to be closed. Push lug in before trying to remove pin

mine needs to be cleaned !!

hold it up to a light to put pin back in to line up the hole to get retaining pinhole lines up

Thanks for checking yours out. That is what I tried to do but no luck, maybe I need to use a little more force. I am going to pull it apart again this weekend and try again.
