Hard to beat a Henry lever action ( 5-6 rounds)
Can't go wrong with a Mossberg 500 ( 6+1)
BPS (5 rounds)
Saiga, American Tactical and XTC Tactical as well as many others in the AR vein.
Beretta makes a super sweet break action double.

Absolutely. I shot one in skeet competition for a period, sold it when I moved into a Krieghoff skeet set, have been kicking myself ever since. A classic gun and they keep their value.

Saiga's are pretty neat especially if it's a 12 gauge with a drum!
