I picked up some Buffalo Bore .44 Mag +p+ rounds because my extended family, along with an 18 month old niece and new puppy are taking a trip to bear county in August. I'd rather not have them become tasty morsels for a hungry bruin. Have any of you compared the +p+ rounds versus a .454, for recoil, punch, penetration, etc? Their ballistics are sorta similar.

I have not, but can tell you the .357 BB rounds vs my normal .357 FMJ rounds were vastly superior in penetration on some 2x4 wood planks
That's been my experience with their .357 mag rounds, too. Are you talking about the 180gr hardcasts? Those things are thumpers.
