45 super for XD models

I shoot 45 super through my P220st regularly. Heavier spring made it pretty easy to do. It's a hard hitting round and will beat on the gun a bit. With a 24# spring my Springfield 1911 handled it fine and did well with it at the range last night.

Per the 1911 forum. ^^^^^^^

Springfield's XD-m .45 and 10mm are built on the same frame. I'm sure spring strength is different between them.

Long story short:

Maybe.

The pistol is physically capable of handling it, yes; however, you may need to install a stronger recoil spring (and possibly mag spring) for complete reliability.

Currently, (and AFAIK) the only two pistols rated for .45 Super from the factory/out of the box are the HK USP & HK45.
