The XD-E line was discontinued recently but you may still be able to find one online or see if your LGS can source one from a distributor.

No ideal why it was discontinued, did you have you LGS try to find one? You also might try online, just make sure the sight your going to use is legit

Out of curiosity I looked at the HK and my question is what makes that gun so expensive? Although I never looked at Springfield’s (E) series my guess is they weren’t in the thousand dollar range?

1. Its an HK
2. The USP series stood for "Universal Service Pistol" they could be reconfigured several different ways. DAO, Safety hammer drop, No hammer drop, I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple. All this could be done by a qualified HK armorer. This way they did not have to make seven different pistols for seven different police departments.

When I worked for LGS these guns would stay in display case for months. Hardly no-one ever asked to see or look at one. One of the slowest selling models around.

I do not. HK in my area also doesn't sell. LGS had several versions of the VP9. They clearanced them out at an UNBELIEVABLE price! I was sweating bullets as they were just about to you're an idiot for not buying price.
