5.7x28

cheapest ammo i see now is federal at 35 a box. I'd still buy and Elite in 5.7. i like the looks and feel of them over anything. it would probably be half priced of the FN and about the same as the Ruger. i have the Ruger and it's "MEH" gun. bland looking and not a great feel in the hand. but it works i guess.

I wanted an 5.7 x 28(FN or Ruger 57) for a long time. I even started saving for one. Then one day I saw a M-1 Carbine Enforcer(M1 Carbine with a pistol grip and 11 inch barrel that's legal to own and were made for a few years) for sale on Texas Gun Trader. It was owned by a fellow Marine who didn't live very far from me. We were able to get together and make a deal.

I like it a lot. It's handy when I'm driving down along the Mexican border. I've got 30 round magazines for it. It's reliable, pretty accurate, and it's a "blast from the past". It came with some 30 round magazines and some ammo. (Now I sometimes think about finding an old Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Carbine. I think that would be a fun firearm to own and shoot...:))

The 30 Carbine Enforcer scratched my 5.7 itch but I still think 5.7s are neat. They are fun to shoot. One of my friends has an FN and I have enjoyed shooting it.

The M1 Enforcer kind of reminds me of the fellow Marines who carried M1 Carbines in the Pacific in World War II. I've also talked to some Vietnam Vets about the Enforcer and some of them liked them and some of them didn't.

I’ve got one as well; I like it a lot.

During the pandemic insanity, when most ammo got astronomical, .22TCM languished on the shelves locally and didn’t get marked up (most places). I bought close to 2k rounds of it for .40-.50 a round.
It's pretty cool that on a Rock Island 9 mm/22 TCM you can swap barrels and recoil springs and shoot 2 calibers. I had mine when I lived in Arkansas(I live in Texas now) and I shot it pretty often. My local gun store always had 22 TCM ammo because they not only sold me the Rock Island 1911 they also sold rifles chambered in that caliber.

If I didn't already have a 22 rifle that shoots (22 long rifle and 22 short) I'd consider getting a rifle in 22 TCM. That caliber is unique and fun enough to own and shoot...:)

I’d love to build a .22TCM PDW…

As I wrote in an earlier post, my M1 Carbine Enforcer(30 Carbine) is my PDW. I sometimes go visit relatives who live near the Mexican border(5 - 10 miles) and it's nice to be able to carry Enforcer my truck as a PDF with a few 30 round magazines.

It's pretty safe where they live but around the border things can get crazy pretty quickly. I live 30 miles from the border and it's usually not too bad around here...:) But if you drive out in the country west away from the little towns you really never know what you'll come across.

I’ve got a PS90 and a Palmetto State Armory 5.7 Rock pistol on the way. Its a fun round to shoot. Supposedly PSA bought an ammo line in the Remington bankruptcy auction and will be dedicating it to 5.7 production. Between PSA, FN, and Federal I expect to see prices come down considerably.
