5 Worst Self Defense Guns

Yeah, I think most are spot on...while I do carry a NAA mini as primary on occasion, it's when absolutely, positively no other pistol is going to be as concealable, yet still rapidly accessible.

.410 revolvers I am...on the fence on, depending on the role. I wouldn’t use one as a carry gun; too big and bulky, plus I don’t like the idea of pellets spreading on a longer shot, if necessary. Additionally...a OOO pellet out of a 4” or less barrel is going to have all the authority of a .36 cap & ball slug...which isn’t a manstopper of renown. Additionally... .45Colt as an option doesn’t make sense. Too much freebore in the long cylinder, and if you want a .45 Colt pistol, why use one of these oversized behemoths. .45ACP (out of a Governor) makes even less sense, for the same reason.

That being said...as a bedside defensive pistol, at an across the room distance? Or as a dedicated anti-carjacking weapon, for extreme close range use? I can see some benefits.

The only reason I would own a .410 revolver of any make is for use as a snake gun. Even then I would have my regular CCW firearm on me also.

Here is an interesting video showing the different loads for .410 revolvers tested --->

The Bond Arms in the .410 would not be a bad choice, if one was wanting that in a smaller gun than the judge. I’ve shot one and it’s not that bad. The NAA in .22 is also a good choice, as a back up to your primary carry or if your in shorts, running ect.
