Hogwash. The Bureau of Labor Statistics likes to use “substitutions” in their inflation calculations to paint a 🌹 picture.
When purchasing a “basket goods” year to year it’s perfectly acceptable for them (US) to substitute hotdogs in the place of steak. Then they tell you that your basket of goods has only gone up 3-6%.
At best it’s dishonest.

I find this more troubling than the $58 B.S. Though for the life of me I don't know why. Don't expect the mainstream news to be objective or even honest. Exploding gas tanks, electrocuted floating fish to prove how polluted the water is, it should have been true D. Rather, etc. etc., etc.
 
I dunno bout y’all but I’m an old man and I can easily tote $100 worth of groceries out of the store-Without any meat in the bag. Make it all beef and I can likely carry $300 😳. Anyone that thinks groceries are cheaper hasn’t been in a grocery store in the last two years.
 
Looking at those lists, it's not going to feed ten people in our family. Or most families.

Perusing the lists in the article, it appears that nobody serves stuffing with their turkey. Sweet potatoes also didn't make the cut. Some options didn't include bread of any type as well.

Thanksgiving dinner has now become political (even more political?). We are supposed to see this report and conclude that the economy is chugging right along. No reason to have kicked the Marxist-Democrats out; let's all try for a re-do. Maybe you idiots will get it right this time.

I was watching the news on how Biden and the First Lady visited a fire house today and brought the firefighters an apple pie…….
If you missed what I just said I’ll repeat……
They brought the firefighters at the fire house an apple pie, 1 apple pie……
Even the broadcaster’s commented on what all the firefighters were going to do with 1 apple pie. Unbelievable.

one turkey 14 lbs, one 8 lb ham, 4 sweet tater, 12 red taters, one box stuffing,
homemade gravy, one apple pie (home made) one pumpkin store bought fresh
1/2 a 20 lb propane bottle cooking turkey

yes we came in just under 70
fed 4 adults and got to spend quality time with the great grand critter

These clowns are just a bunch of self-absorbed clueless @$$hats and always have been. The only reason they are at the firehouse is for a photo op. It was a long standing excuse, long before FJB became VP, "that's just Uncle Joe" every time he did/said something stupid AGAIN.
 
Don't worry gents. After Mr T's second day in office the media will be reporting the ACTUAL inflation numbers and of course blaming Trump. "It was 3-5 % under Uncle Joe, but now it is up to 11% and counting. You people are so stupid for voting him in" they will go on to say, because we are ignorant working people and the liberal elites know what is best for us. I didn't believe them then, won't believe them going forward. And according to their record low ratings and poll trust numbers, it appears I am not alone.
