6 Best 9mm 1911s: Move Over .45 ACP

Indeed. I think the 9mm 1911 ought to get it's own name because it's not a 1911.

I don’t have an issue with the 1911 being chambered in 9mm because to each his own, should the 45ACP “move over?”
I say contentious statement.
It took me years to get involved with hammer strike handguns as I was a striker fired guy, that being said as soon as held one; (SA 1911 RO 45ACP) purchased and shot it I was sold.
I no longer own that SA RO however I do own a SA Emissary in 45ACP and love that gun. I don’t have a 9mm gun in my collection and don’t see myself adding one in a 1911 or any other model.
Again to each his own. 😎

I was late to the 1911 party and bought my first a few years ago a Springfield Range Officer Operator in.45.
Since I only use it for a range gun it would be nice to have another in 9mm, but for now my MOD-2 Tactical in 9mm will be sufficient.

Eh…once again, “best” is determined by whatever gun manufacturers are spending on advertising/giveaways with the author.

I’d put the Baer “Black Baer” as a better pistol than the EMP, and in the same CCW class.

A Staccato is a better pistol than the Prodigy.

Budget? RIA.

Runner up CCW? Several options from Dan Wesson, if not stepping clean up to offerings from Wilson, Nighthawk, et al.

Classic? Again, the RIA GI 9mm.
