Any weapon that is reliable is actually good for SHTF.
as long as you are a competent shooter, you can find weapons and ammo as you go if you start with adequate quantity for your main firearm. This is America. Guns are plentiful. You can equip on the way as long as you can outshoot the numbnutz that cannot shoot.

List is not surprising. It’s like a list of desert island guitars including a Strat, a Tele and a Les Paul.
Ask yourself this. If the SHTF and you could only have one gun to get you through it are you seriously going to A) pick a handgun and B) pick a handgun like a revolver or a 1911 ?
I would expect that list to include a good .22 rifle, an AR and a tactical shotgun.

This list seems to lean toward handgun fighting,not survival.What you have at the time is what you use.For the def.of shtf see when the balloon goes up.
