Red dots by themselves are only accurate out to about 100 yards. But using a magnifier can for those times when you need the projectile to reach out and touch something out of the red dot’s stand-alone effective range.

Good article, but disagree on 100 yard accuracy statement. If you have less that 5 moa dot it increases the distance and that's why I have 2 to 3.5 moa dots to see more.
