Hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol are always here when needed. I find that most cold remedies are always expired when I need them, so I don't buy to keep on hand. The best cure all to have for my needs is a small bottle of strong ginger brandy.

Not "get hammered" quantities, but 2 fingers' worth in a tumbler, sipped before bed...it'll burn out just about anything.

Whiskey was in every home back in the day. As an antiseptic, for whatever ails you, a little rubbed on a child's gums to relieve teething.
