While I like my sexy MSAR-E4's, and haven't had any issues with them (they still have all factory parts although I have Ratworx upgrades & spare parts available), there are seven (7) tangible reasons for having ARs over AUGs.

#1 - Unless you have the coin ARs are significantly cheaper than AUGs
#2 - Parts availability. AR >> AUG.
#3 - Upgradability. AR >> AUG.
#4 - After market. AR >> AUG.
#5 - Versatility. AUG = one configuration, AR = many, plus How many different chamberings can you get the AUG in = 1, AR = many.
#6 - Can you build your own AUG. Yes but difficult & $$. AR's = Hell yes, easy & alot cheaper.
#7 - You can get piston ARs.

AUGs are sexy & have a few design advantages over AR's, but AR's have some design advantages over AUGs. Again if you have the coin AUGs are fun & sexy.
