Maybe I missed it in the article, but the 1917 saw WW II service in Alaska. The 1917 was the rifle used to arm the Alaska Territorial Guard or the Eskimo Scouts. Good article, however there is one little mistake. In reference to the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, the article goes on to mention the Japanese attack in the Philippines "The next day, Imperial Japanese troops began their assault on the Philippines." This is incorrect, both attacks happened on the same day. Though the attack in the Philippines began on December 8th, it was actually the same day as the attack on Pearl Harbor due to the fact that the Philippines is on the other side of the international date line from Hawaii.
