Great article Mike! Years back I shot in a metallic silhouette match put on by the South Bay Rod & Gun Club (San Diego, I was in the Navy then), I borrowed my brother's .30-06 for the shoot, I was shocked to find out I had the largest caliber on the range and I won the class! My bro was pissed that I out-shot him with his .243.

Ya know, I think ya left the .308 off the list of cases developed from the .30-06.

I recently purchased a Savage 30-06 and a Sig-Sauer scope. I want to sight it in and go hog hunting in Texas or closer to home in North Carolina.
