@CAPMARINE276 Sorry your America sucks. I wish I could share mine with you because it’s pretty damn good. And has been since I showed up on its shores. Is it perfect? No, it never has been, but I get up everyday and thank my lucky stars that I chose to live here, that I have an amazing job that directly affects the welfare of this great nation, that I have wonderful friends and family who are all happy, healthy and prosperous. For my America - a country that has always been one great social experiment - the future looks just fine.

Simon, I don't think he said "America sucks". All he said was that he missed "the America he grew up in". I don't know CAPMARINE's age or when he grew up, but I do know mine and can say without reservation 'I miss the America I grew up in'. That doesn't mean I don't love America right now, or that America sucks. But I think we of a certain age group can all agree that our country has changed over some number of years. In some cases pretty radically. Some changes were maybe for the better, some obviously for the worse. There are literally hundreds, maybe thousands of examples of both types of change, but this is not the place for that discussion.

When all the dust is settled, if I had a choice as to which America I'd prefer today, there's no question I'd choose 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and even into the 90's. Since the turn of the century I think we've seen much more change for the worse than for the better. Do I have an explanation, well I have my perception of what's changed. But that's all it is ... my perception.

Regards, jj

well, whether America sucks to some, or is heaven to others, all i know is i have to wait a whole year for MY SPECIAL DAY again....

in the meantime, to keep "in practice", i will simply take my naps, maybe even add a few extra ones in when i can....
