A History of U.S. Recoilless Rifles: Applied Physics in War

The author didn't mention the Carl Gustav 84mm that's been used, and still used, in various models by the US for decades.

In about 1971 I attended a heavy weapons instructor course in RVN including the 90mm recoilless. The USAF air base defense concept was to use the 90 to neutralize VC if they took one of our bunkers. We only got to fire one round though, due to shortage and cost of rounds. I felt the thing was just as dangerous at the back end as in front. I preferred the LAW as it was easier to deploy.

My father used on Ontos in the Marines circa late ‘50s-early ‘60s
