A little help with this email from SA please

Hellcat
I just went to my email a few minutes ago and found this. I'm not sure of it and not computer savvy enough to know how to verify it. I'm going to try to attach it for you to see. BTW, I haven't ordered anything from SA in a good while that I can remember. OK one or more of you gurus ............. please tell me how to proceed.

Edit: Don't know why but I can't get it to attach to this post. I did a prt sc, then saved it to a word processor, then tried to attach it here ..... but no luck. What else do I need to do?

Double check the address since crooks use variations of an address to fool you.

If you haven't ordered anything & unless its an SA ad I wouldn't open anything with an attachment or reply.

On the email move your cursor over the email subject title and a little box should open up with an address in it.

Plus, again, if it's not an ad then it could be a spoof.

JJ, And also call the actual listed phone number found elsewhere by going to a good known source of Springfield AND NOT the one possibly listed on the email to verify the email and contents.

DO NOT click on any links in the email until you verify contents actually through Springfield. If it's spam or a spoof they may hijack many things besides your email. Even if the emails mailing address and other info match what found elsewhere, I'd call Springfield directly to verify email if you're suspicious by what seen in email on your end.

I placed the cursor over the name and it identifies SA. I don't see any 'subject' line to put the cursor over. However, I'm pretty sure it's OK as I've C/P'd the supposedly 'Tracking #' and it is in fact a FedEx tracking # telling me to expect my shipment 11/11/21. I'm thinking it's my Hellcat being returned. Remember I sent it back a couple weeks ago with the slide lock button hanging up.

I'm hoping that's what it is 'cause I know I haven't ordered anything. It says a copy of the invoice is attached and there is an attachment at the bottom of the email. I can preview it but to do so I must click on it to open it as a preview. I'm fairly convinced it's legitimate, but still a little cautious.

What do y'all think?

It's all good .............. when the tracking # seemed to pan out and the address entry was verified, I opened the attachment preview and it was in fact an invoice indicating return of my Hellcat, all repaired and working properly. The invoice did say they replaced the slide stop after testing. I hope there's a little better explanation as to what was actually done and why. I'd really like to know why it did what it did when jamming up.

But I sure am glad to know it's on the way home !!!! :D(y)(y)(y) Oh, and thank y'all for the help.

The HC HG return is what was in the back of my mind too JJ. Is likely what it is. If can wait until tomorrow, to give your mind a break, I'd just call and verify w/SA tomorrow. Tomorrow's likely good since doubt anyone's delivering anything tonight or tomorrow, right? Better safe than possibly sorry?

(y)(y) You'll likely know soon!

It’s probably legit JJ, since you are expecting the return or your Hellcat. I just recently ordered 2 separate items from SA (discount items for registering my Hellcat RPD, and its gear-up promo for 1 free 15 round mag. Both emails came as you described with invoices as attachments and the 2 USPS tracking numbers. If you want to play it safe, you can look at the FedEx tracking history, to see we’re it’s being shipped from and verify it is from their location. You could also do as Bob suggests and call/email them asking “did you guys ship me something with FedEx tracking number xyz?”

Yeh, I did verify where it was shipped from and it checks out. So, I'm thinking it's all OK. I printed the invoice and it's all OK. I'm pretty sure it's all good from here. And thanks to all.

It's a real hindrance to be so limited on computer skills. Hell, I can barely spell 'IBM' .... much less use one !!! ;)(y) (y)(y)

I like the way you said you just went to your email, like it’s out by the curb, next to the normal mail box. I got a funny visual in my head.

Glad it turned out to be legit.
