A RARE SPRINGFIELD

It's lucky Elmer K. got his hands on it after the war was done and most of those rifles were being declared as surplus. The reason being is that many of those 1903's built before the 30s went through rebuild programs where parts were up-graded and new WWII dated barrels were added because of excessive wear at the throat and muzzle.

As this example bears out, Mr. Pedersen was a busy employee at Remington. This is on a Model 12 pump .22 rifle made about 1930. You have to wonder how many former employees will still walk the floors at the old, and now closed Remington Ilion Works. A lot of history there.
