IL Gun Ban Unconstitutional


The ISRA is proud to announce that Federal District Judge Stephen McGlynn has found the provisions of the Illinois ban on commonly owned firearms and accessories known as “PICA” to be unconstitutional. Furthermore, the State of Illinois is prohibited from enforcing provisions of this unconstitutional lawrelated to registration, possession, and purchases of commonly owned firearms and accessories after December 8th, 2024.

The Illinois State Rifle Association has been fighting against this ban since it’s introduction at the Illinois Statehouse. Our legislative team tried to warn lawmakers about the unconstitutionality of Pritzker’s scheme. After the Governor put his signature on this affront to citizen’srights, the ISRA partnered with the Second Amendment Foundation to file suit in Federal Court with a promise to see this through to the US Supreme Court if necessary. Today’s ruling affirms our legislative position and shows our dedication to fighting on behalf of the millions of law-abiding Illinois firearms owners.

Barring any further court action, the ISRA looks forward to restoration of 2nd Amendment rights to Illinoisfirearms owners just in time for the holidays and winter hunting seasons.

His propaganda can't keep up with reality. The state is in sad shape. We're projected to be 5+ billion dollar deficits moving forward. We are already among the highest taxed in the country. I don't think he could possibly win reelection. Which is good, that should throw cold water on his presidential "hopes, dreams and aspirations. "

Look at our congressional maps for the state of Illinois. The damage is done. The gerrymandering that has been done will continue to be the ruin of this state, far more than any influx of illegals. Madigan is done, unlikely to be convicted. I know we're not supposed to talk politics but it's as clear as day what has been going on since Gov Ryan was scapegoated and Gov Blago was railroaded. Gov fatboy really is running us to ruin.
 
I grew up on a farm near Springfield. My Dad said Springfield was where crooked politicians from Chicago went to collect their graft. I still have friends and family in Illinois. Most of the state south of I-80 is conservative but Wirenut is right, Chicago has a stranglehold on the rest of the state
