After 8 Months of Research

Following my decision to buy a 5th wheel camper which I’ve put on temporary hold until interest rates come down I’m moving forward with a project for my truck.

Honestly I’ve been contemplating this since I bought the truck but put it off.
The setup shown is all made by WARN.
It comes in 4 different kits, the first is the bracket kit that will require the bumper removal to install, the bumper is reinstalled. The second kit is the winch tray (carrier) that attaches to the brackets. The winch I’ve chosen is the Warn Zeon 12 it’s rated at 12,000 pounds with a steel cable.
It’s overkill for getting just the truck out of trouble but my overall intention is to be able to pull both the truck and camper if need be.
The final kit will be the tall push bars, I decided against the push bar kit with the wrap around headlight guard tubes.

I called Warn customer service yesterday and talked to a very knowledgeable and polite CS Agent who took the time to answer all my questions and even sent me PDF’s of all install instructions for every kit for me to read up on even before any parts start arriving next week.

I’ve also pulled the trigger on the two way radios and will be receiving them next week as well.

One thing even better to make you week go great, drop the Ford and get a Chevy…………🤪🤪🤪🤪

What you appreciate the most from a warn is the speed. Most planetary geared winches are slow. i stripped the planetary gars plum out of a mile marker one time on the first use..

After i took it apart i could see it wasn't going to pull much. it was cheap. now the company did warranty it and sent me new gears. but nothing i hate more is slow winches. also invest in a snatch block and a good tree strap or chain.

☝️☝️☝️A good tree strap and a snatch block are always a good idea. The strap will keep from tearing up the bark on a good tree. I've seen results of some nitwit wrapping a tow chain around a tree, and in a year it's already dying. It seems so obvious, but there's always one in the crowd. jj

I bought a warm also, but purchased it in '87 (12k) and have used it a bunch. I used it for loading equipment onto trailers and lifting 10" pipe 20' long 40' overhead. Did you want only center protection instead of full frontal? Nice radios! Warn wenches makes even Ford's and Dodge's look good ;) :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. What I didn't have a choice of back then was wireless remote. I did buy a kit that included a snatch block, gloves and 20k flat strap. Don't remember the length.

I’ll look into those items thank you.
