Ak-19 is trying to get inroads into the Nato 5.56 market in Asia, Middle east and S America. Will the market accept it ?
What do ya’ll think of it ?

If I want 5.56 its an AR platform not an AK. I like an Ak because its different from an AR

I'm not sure how the world markets will react to the AK-19, but I might be interested in one. One of the few executive actions that the President actually has the authority to implement is to ban the importation of foreign-made ammunition. One of the things that initially drew me to the AK platform is the cheap ammo. Very little 7.62x39 ammo is produced domestically, and the small amount that is produced stateside does not offer cost savings over 5.56 NATO.

I have grown very fond of the AK platform. I would be willing to buy an AK in 5.56 NATO if we ever get back to reasonable prices for .223/5.56 ammo and 7.62x39 becomes difficult to obtain. The AK-19 wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd definitely be open to it under the right circumstances.

Thanks for heads up KF!
Riley Defense is making some good domestic AK's again.
No telling how that will effect/progress with them, Kalashnikov and other domestic mfg's.
With current ammo availability and sales is hard telling. Lot's up in the air for now.

I have the Beretta ARX 100, which is pretty much already a light weight plastic AK that shoots 556 NATO, it's piston driven, has a side charging handle, runs dirty, and isn't very accurate.

So it checks off most of the AK boxes;)

Accepted In current market from what seen with ammo and firearm shortages?
Possibly, if free case of ammo thrown in?
And, that's not happening.
Wouldn't touch it.

This is designed to run in an entirely different market-the .mil/.gov circuit.

Governments are not affected by ammo shortages; they always get the first cut...even our government.

I doubt we'll ever see them (the AK19) in the US consumer market.
