I just returned from an Alaskan cruise and all of my shooting was done with a camera. I don't have an expensive camera so I'm quite pleased with the wildlife pictures I got.

eagles up there are like pigeons, they are everywhere. i had some chase us down a pier after a fishing trip
around here we may have 50 at best out on the lake.

I.love Alaska, beautiful place but the black flies and mosquitos can drive yoy buggy.

Had a huge opportunity to be high up in a big Akaskan bank in DP years ago. But my wife could not leave the family behind. Always wondered how that would have went.

Isn't the state bird a mosquito? I think I've seen T-shirts with that on it.

I flew float planes out of Sitka one summer 30 yrs ago.. miss it dearly.
Approach to the airport in a 737 required a 90 degree bank depending on which approach path one was on.
That always freaked out folks from the lower 48

Good pics. My only Alaska experience was 2 trips to Anchorage in February for 3 days attending an annual industry trade-show. Meh. Wish it had been June or late August.
