All buttoned up ready for winter

Just finished putting a cover on the last door and the snow globe is all buttoned up and ready for winter. This was the last thing to finish before winter hits. Now sitting enjoying a cup of tea with the heaters running. Only using the smaller electric heaters right now it's not cold yet.

Speaking of not being Winter yet, on Sunday Colorado Springs set a record high temperature for December 8th.

On Monday, we got 5 inches of snow. All the main roads in Colorado Springs were shut down as was the interstate.

It is currently 28° in Colorado Springs.

Is cold here today in Southern New Mexico but the trees still have leaves! In 30 years I can't remember still having leaves in December. The whole weather pattern is messed up.

Never. Ever. Dreading winter is more appropriate.

Ground clearance is what gets me. Like many of you, the wife gets the new car and I get her cast off. So my daily driver is a 2013 Honda Civic Si with a six speed manual transmission and a limited slip diff. It is a snow cat...as long as my ground clearance holds up. I love driving in the snow early in the morning...before the fools come out. They think because they have a 4WD SUV they can drive as fast as they do on dry roads...they do not understand the concept of braking in snow, and 4WD does not help you a bit on braking. I wave to them in the ditch as I drive along with my front wheel drive stick shift.

And yet I still live in Maine with no intention of leaving. I don't even want to think what that says about me.
