All-Copper Handgun Bullets: Are They Worth It?

Some of them might be ok but others not so much. I have considered the Lehigh defense load for my .380 but I have to much old school in me I guess . People have been dying of lead poisoning for many years and it is still happening today.

While I don’t buy into the hype of the screwdriver tip”fluid transfer” rounds—I definitely don’t think they’re worth the premium—I do use CHP’s (Barnes X) for hunting; I prefer using lead-free rounds in that role. I’ve found they work well.

I have four boxes of these Colt 185-grain .45 ACP rounds..

I gel tested numerous boxes of the Black Hills Honey Badger line against JHP's in my EDC pistols and was impressed to the point that I now carry them in all my pistols. They're more expensive than JHP's but, to me, worth it. For the range, it's Fiocchi FMJ's in comparable weights. Glad I stocked up on all my ammo before the current shortage.

I never shot any of these bullets, but back in the day, I did have a few boxes of S&W brand of .38special 158gr Nyclad.....not copper, but fun to shoot
