Ambidextrous training coming in handy.

Sld1959

So for the next 10 days, at least, my being left handed and trained in ambidextrous shooting will be handy. Clumsy trip and fall onto a glass left me with 8 stitches over the first joint on my right hand trigger finger. Stupid yeah, tell me about it.

The finger has to stay immobilized for 10 days with an aluminum brace, so now training goes into effect and back to carrying the snub in left hip pocket. Hmmm now to train to shoot bow with only two fingers...

Oh crap. Hope you heal soon buddy. At least it will give you some more range time focused on the weak side. Also I assume your wife will do more things for you around the house. :)

Wow, accidents happen, hope it gets well soon for you!

Hopefully your trigger finger heals well! I broke my left navicular (wrist bone) new years day '87 and my strong side handgun shooting hand has become unusable. Rifle and shotty is fine, but recoil from a small caliber still pains me. 36 years later my left hand has limitations. I can lift, but pushing is a no-go.

Owww! Heal fast! Cut back on whiskey!

Do what you have to do there friend. And get well soon. I'm also a south paw and can't even scratch my behind with my right hand so I know what you're dealing with.

What I don't understand is why Mr HayesGreener back in msg #8 would advise you to "cut back on the medicinal alcohol' though. ;)

Good luck on the healing.

When folks think of weak hand shooting it’s always the ole “your strong arm is disabled ina. fight” scenario when really everyone should be practicing just because as we get older we are much more likely to have surgery or a mishap with our strong hand.

Better to be ahead of the power curve than catch up. So one handed practice with both hands because at some point if you live long enough one’s gonna be out of commission for a minute
