Hopefully sooner on ammo? You likely coulda, shoulda asked if LGS or online dealer had a few boxes available when bought? Maybe still can after sale, while sale's still fresh in LGS's mind? As a general rule, I won't buy a gun if ammo isn't readily available at LGS, home or known location elsewhere at time of possible purchase unless gun price is one heck of "I can't pass this by deal."

Have you tried Kittery Trading Post for ammo?
I just found some .270 140gr in stock for $35 a box of 20 from a very reputable online store and I sent the link through a private message to you so you have a chance of getting it before someone else does.
It looks like they also have some reloading bullets available in that caliber also.
