An Observation to Share. . .

I'm lounging, and decided I'd check-in with Kyle, Stan, Butters, and the gang. Now, I'm no fuddy-duddy, at least I don't think I am, yet. I've circled the block many times. I saw a promo for an MTV video music award program. My observation? I'm definitely, woefully out of touch, and I couldn't be more pleased to admit it!

i like to think of myself being so uncool that i'm actually sort of cool... but not really.

It wasn’t until this year did I begin to watch South Park. Hard to believe this show is 25 yrs old, the simple animation process was never appealing so it never grabbed my attention in the past.

What did draw my interest to S-P was the recent episode that mocked the whiny Sussex Duo privacy demands, which I read in the NY Post was causing a stir.
Now I’ll catch an episode or two of S-P but that comedy channel network airs around 20-25 commercials in a row for every 5 minutes of programming. Way too distracting and annoying for late night comic relief.

If it wasn’t for Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing”(1985) and the kids watching knuckle-headed Beevis and Butthead back then, I didn’t have much care afterwards for the latter contemporary, politically pandering MTV or VH-1 content.
Early on those video cable channels were ok but never a match for the pioneers like Dick Clark’s Band Stand, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, Saturday Midnight Night Special that come to mind.

The worlds oldest teenagers…yes it’s us.

Did you mean ABC-TV's Midnight Special, which aired on Friday nights, often simulcast in stereo on some local FM radio affiliate? I watched a LOT of those at university, usually with friends, often with alcohol and/or weed, but only two performances stay with me to this day: Poco doing "Good Feeling to Know," and David Bowie premiering "1984," which wouldn't appear for MONTHS (interminable MONTHS!) on his Diamond Dogs album. Ah, good times!
