It's not just buying votes, it's spending (and printing) money we don't have. This is a direct cause of inflation. It's a common theme with Dems, search for a problem and offer to throw money at it to fix it. They may use other terms such as incentive, investment, tax credit, public private enterprise, etc., but everything costs money and once established, it rarely goes away.
